Yes, reformer Pilates is suitable for all levels of fitness and at Avenue Pilates there is a class type for all. We advise all new clients to book in for our introductory sessions. During our first meeting you will have the opportunity to run through your medical history, current concerns and what you hope to gain from your sessions. We will then suggest the most suitable classes and schedule for you.

1. Grip socks - please BYO, or we sell some in the studio if you forget or don’t own a pair yet. Barefoot reformers is a no-no from us.
2. Wear whatever you’re comfortable in, you’ll be moving and stretching so clothes that can do the same are ideal.

Reformer Pilates can help you progress from chronic injury or illness back to full fitness. It will also help with any niggling muscular or postural issues that cause you discomfort, restrict movement or prevent you from enjoying certain sports or everyday activities as much as you would like.
Yes, at Avenue Pilates we offer a specialist pre- and postnatal class suitable for those in all stages of pregnancy and beyond (with babies welcome!). Created to empower you throughout pregnancy and help recovery post-birth, it’s the perfect way to help manage the rigours of labour and delivery, and the unique demands of the months to follow. (Please note if you are in your third trimester and have no previous reformer Pilates training, we could not currently accept you as a client.)
Once you have had full clearance by your GP/medical practitioner or midwife and have no underlying post-birth conditions then you can return to exercise from 6-8 weeks after giving birth. If you have had a caesarean section, the minimum period is 12 weeks once you have received full medical clearance.
